ABA English

Hello friends, what I want to talk about today is related to the use of mobile applications in language training. I want to talk about an application I used in high school. Probably all of you have heard of the ABA English application, if you have not heard, don't worry, I will explain it.

There are 6 language levels. It consists of 144 units. It provides training through videos, videos related to events you encounter in real life, videos with grammars.

It can enable you a private tutor, of course, it is fee-paying. A section showing your progress is visible above the page.

With these short videos (ABA movies) your vocabulary knowledge enhances, you learn how you can react to the events you meet in real life as English, I mean you learn English phrases, and you enhance your grammar knowledge.

You can talk by recording your voice with the microphone, it improves your speaking skill by checking your pronunciation.

You can fill out the empty places that are related to the dialogue after you listen to the voice. It improves your listening and writing skills.

You play the role of the people in the scenario by talking.

There is a video class that explains grammars.

In the next part, you can do dialogue exercises.

There is a vocabulary section that is about the important words found in the dialog. You can listen to the pronunciation of words

In the final section, there is a versatile (listening, writing, speaking) test where dialogue-related questions are found.

In general, the other parts of the application are shown below.

There are many videos and summary grammar notes.
There is also a section where you can communicate with your tutor and also a help section.
ABA is a video-based application so you can select videos that match the level of the students and the students listen to the videos. I can give transcripts of the videos to the students. They can animate the roles of people in these videos.
Or imagine, for example, that the video is about shopping. Students may be taught to ask questions that the seller and the customer are asking each other, the answers they give, such as asking price, thanking, shopping, etc., and students may be asked to create a new dialogue using these phrases and words.

I hope you like this idea, see you soon.
